Tangos and Songs from Argentina
We met in an old email list, about fourteen years ago. Back then we shared information and some music files, mainly from our production. After sending each other those recordings we thought of working as a duo. That was the birth of “Mate Amargo”. Later on, Steffi joined us with her violin, and we started shaping the idea of making a CD, until we came up with this album, where we bring our best recordings: Tangos, waltzes, a milonga, a foxtrot, popular tunes, and a few songs from the Argentine Mesopotamia. Looking to define our style as eclectic and traditionalist, we present “Barro y Pampa”.
Nos conocimos en una vieja lista de email, hace unos catorce años. Por entonces compartíamos información y algunos archivos de música; en su mayoria de produccion propia. Asi, enviándonos esas grabaciones, comenzamos a producir temas como dúo. Nació asi “Mate Amargo”. Luego llegó Steffi con su violín , al tiempo que la idea de hacer un CD comenzó a tomar forma, hasta llegar a este álbum, donde traemos lo mejor de nuestra producción; Tangos, valses, una milonga, un foxtrot, temas populares, y algo de musica del litoral argentino. Buscando definir un estilo ecléctico y tradicionalista, presentamos “Barro y Pampa”.
Vor nunmehr vierzehn Jahren lernten wir uns in einer Email-Liste kennen, damals tauschten wir Informationen und Musik zum Thema Tango aus. Bald begannen wir, auch eigene Aufnahmen zu tauschen und miteinander zu musizieren - das war die Geburt von "Mate Amargo". Später kam Steffi mit ihrer Geige dazu und der Wunsch kam auf, unsere Aufnahmen auch auf CD zu veröffentlichen. Hier präsentieren wir jetzt "Barro y Pampa", eine Sammlung von Tangos, Valses, Milongas und traditionellen Liedern aus Argentiniens Nordosten.
